Scribe Winery in Sonoma, California produces vibrant, terroir-driven wines. The winery, founded in 2007 on a property that pioneered pre-prohibition Sonoma Valley winemaking, is managed by fourth-generation California farmers and brothers, Andrew and Adam Mariani. I’ve been commissioned annually to document wine releases, culinary events, and pop ups in Bay Area oyster depots, pizza shops and ramen restaurants to create marketing material for the winery’s events and community gatherings. I shoot this work part documentary style, part styled: both editorially inflected to evoke the hip Bay Area culture and laid back, glowing and community-infused lifestyle that both Northern California, and Scribe Winery, are known for.
