photograph

I approach wedding photography with a sense of curiosity, sincerity and delight. I have been shooting weddings for over twenty years, originally exclusively on film, then with digital cameras, and today—with a blend of both. My wedding photography is known for its detailed, energetic, editorial style, and being infused with many joyous, candid portraits and a strong sense of place.

My photographs tell the stories of wedding days with an old-fashioned sense of narrative. This less directed, naturalistic approach results in a style that is uncontrived and genuine. Mine are not stock photography images, and I do not work under a shot-list that I stick to at every wedding. I often shoot for artists and consider weddings creative endeavours. Just as each wedding is personal and unique, my wedding photos reveal the particular personalities, style, and feeling of every couple’s wedding day and their diverse communities, big or small.

I aim to authentically capture the flow, joys and emotions of each wedding with a documentary approach, and to make sure that a couple’s time in front of my camera is relaxed and authentic. During certain parts of the day, I step back to document spontaneous moments, honest candidness, and the intimate nature of the wedding day, while at other times, I add a bit of direction to create narrative imagery.  I have a film background and a masters in fine art photography; this, plus a keen eye for fashion, floral and interior details imbues couple’s photographs with a sense of place, personality and beauty..

COUPLES receive all wedding photographs via a private, online gallery which is connected to a professional photography lab from where select prints, in a range of sizes, can be ordered. All images are also included as high resolution files, be they digital or scanned film photographs.  Photo packages range from $2250 to $5500, from 3 hours to 8 hours of coverage.

LOCATED in San Francisco, I shoot weddings in Napa, Sonoma and Marin counties, as well as Los Angeles, The Central Coast, and The Pacific Northwest. When not shooting, editing or traveling, I tend to be in the kitchen cooking with my toddler Lollino, or at the cinema, beach or relishing a garden, a meal with a friend, or a flea market.
