Airyka Rockefeller is a freelance photographer and artist originally from a small island in the Puget Sound. Airyka attended Sarah Lawrence College in New York to study film and cultural anthropology, then lived in India, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and the Pacific Northwest before completing her master of fine arts at California College of the Arts. Known for her evocative, editorial style, Airyka's work is part reportage, part fine art. In addition to documenting people, places, objects and celebrations, Airyka works as a creative-consultant, advising and assisting on projects related to fashion, flora, food and interiors. She is the co-founder of Amending, an annual, curated, pop-up shop. Presently, she is working on a book featuring portraits taken over a decade by a beloved neighbor, at Tartine Bakery, in San Francisco.
